Danville’s Blossom & Root Adds Lunch and Delivery

Blossom and Root’s vegan menu and emphasis on carefully prepared local produce has proved so successful since the restaurant opened in August that service has now expanded to lunch, and both takeout and delivery are available.
Please join us on Mother’s Day, May 12th for brunch from 10am -3pm and dinner from 4pm-7pm.
With the arrival of Susan Virgilio’s Blossom & Root, plant-based diners can not only rejoice in her philosophical approach to eating healthy meals but also in the way her chef, Jen Sopinski, manifests that vision on the plate.

Bay Area town getting first vegan restaurant from family with Michelin cred
San Francisco and Oakland may be hotbeds of vegan restaurants, but in the Bay Area town of Danville, plant-based options are a bit rarer to find.
However, that’s about to change — Danville local Susan Virgilio is planning to open Blossom & Root, the first entirely vegan restaurant in Danville, reported the East Bay Times. The restaurant’s concept was inspired by Virgilio’s daughter, Sally Virgilio, who is a chef de partie at Michelin-starred plant-based Restaurant KLE in Switzerland.  READ MORE…

Blossom and Root has been a year in the making, and its home will be in the completely remodeled Basque Boulangerie Café space on Hartz Avenue (a couple of blocks south of Diablo Road in the Danville Hotel building). The menu features small and large plates, soups and salads, and has a separate kids’ section.
In line with the eco-friendly vibe, the beverage list focuses on wine and beer from environmentally sustainable providers, and also has several healthy mocktails on offer. READ MORE…
